Description:
This 66-m clear span structure located at the remote location of Owkeno Lake was constructed with a design build contract model. The project required the detailed planning of moving 1.6 million pounds of construction materials from Vancouver to Rivers Inlet by barge, then loading onto trucks, delivering to the south end of Owkeno Lake, re-loading onto a barge, shipping to Machmell camp and reloading onto trucks for delivery to site. The site had no access to the woods end, and required the use of Helicopters to construct the woods abutment. This structure was launched into place.
