Description:
The 64-m long bridge over the Dunedin River was constructed without the ability to gain equipment access to the high chainage abutment. The structure crosses a sedimentary rock gorge and is located 15-m above the river level. The foundation consists of cast-in-place footings with Dywidag rock anchors. The superstructure is a continuous composite bridge. Construction occurred during winter conditions which added to the complexity given the cast-in-place footings in the remote location.
