Ruskin maintains and operates
two water borne construction facilities on the Canadian West Coast. One
operation is stationed in Victoria B.C. servicing a host of clients along the
South Coast including the department of National Defense, Fisheries Canada, and
private developers. In Prince Rupert, Ruskin operates through a part ownership
in Skeena Pile & Bridge Ltd. to provide dredging and general construction
services to the Pacific North Coast.
The range of services varies from
jetty reconstruction to marine salvage and dredging. All of the pile driving
equipment controlled by Ruskin can be attached to our spud barge mounted 150
ton cranes. This ensures we can provide the same range of services water borne
that we have available on our land based operations. Our steady work force of
supervisors and trained journeymen have the experience and know how to deal
with the fierce west coast winter storms, and aggressive tide changes. To
ensure total success on a project, Ruskins work force plans its
activities to meet the constraints caused by tide or operational windows that
can dictate or affect working schedules.
Inland waters are serviced by
Ruskins sectional scow, which can be transported and assembled to provide
marine construction services to inland water bodies. This service ensures
Ruskins clients are serviced regardless of the access constraints.
Knowledge of the ports and facilities along the West
Coast ensures Ruskins on going ability to maintain service to the most
remote areas. Related
